Initial Situation

Challenge: Managing Separate Environments and a High Administrative Workload

The Military Technical Institute operates systems with stringent requirements for security and the handling of sensitive data. Historically, the organization maintained two separate systems, one for monitoring non-public documents and another for monitoring the status of its infrastructure.

Managing these separate systems placed a significant time burden on the internal team. VTÚ therefore sought to deepen its cooperation with an external partner whose expertise could help optimize the tools and ensure their professional long-term management.

Collaboration Objective

What was the objective of the collaboration?

The primary objective was to ensure that the systems were always properly configured and aligned with the organization’s current needs.

Key Requirements:

  • Long-Term Reliability: Ensuring both monitoring systems remain properly configured and up to date.
  • Best Practice Implementation: Applying proven industry best practices to monitoring management.
  • Reduced Workload for Internal IT: Relieving the team of routine maintenance tasks so they can focus on key priorities.
  • Expert Consultation: Having a trusted partner for regular consultations on security architecture.
Proposed Solution

Solution: Long-Term Expert Partnership in Security

Rather than focusing solely on maintenance, we concentrated on making effective use of the existing tools and ensuring they were properly configured. Our role is to bring expert insight into their management, helping maintain a high standard of security across both data and infrastructure.

Key Elements of the Solution:

  • Monitoring Management: Taking responsibility for the routine monitoring and management of both systems.
  • Applying Expertise: Implementing proven practices that improve the efficiency of working with data.
  • Regular Consultations: The partnership is built on an ongoing dialogue about the future direction of security and monitoring.
Scope of Work

How was the project implemented?

The partnership was structured to ensure maximum continuity and security. In the initial phase, we focused on aligning our technical expertise with VTÚ’s specific requirements. The project is delivered through long-term support and regular expert consultations.

Thanks to a professional approach and a thorough understanding of VTÚ’s specific environment, we established a model in which CompuNet manages the technical aspects of monitoring in the background, while the internal team has access to all relevant outputs for its strategic work.
Results

Result: More Automation and Greater Focus on Key Priorities

The partnership has delivered tangible improvements to the Military Technical Institute’s day-to-day IT operations:

Technical Results

  • Reduced Workload for Internal IT: By transferring routine monitoring management to an external partner, the internal team can focus primarily on strategic priorities and working with data.
  • More Automated Processes: We introduced standards that simplified system management and improved monitoring efficiency.

Operational Impact

  • Enhanced Security: The implementation of proven best practices significantly improved the level of data security.
  • A Partner for Future Development: VTÚ gained an expert partner for regular discussions on security architecture and a clear direction for the future development of its infrastructure.
Client Perspective

How does the client evaluate the collaboration?

“External monitoring management has significantly reduced our workload and enabled our internal team to focus on key priorities. I greatly appreciate the proactive approach, the implementation of proven best practices, and the significant improvement in our level of data security. For us, this partnership is not just about maintaining systems, but above all about meaningful discussions on security architecture and establishing a clear direction for the future.”
