Challenge: A Historic Building with Infrastructure Constraints
The Ministry of Agriculture is headquartered in a monumental historic building in Prague’s Těšnov district. One of the main challenges was the building itself. Dating back to 1932 and protected as a cultural monument, it placed significant constraints on the implementation of modern network infrastructure.
The existing wireless infrastructure no longer met current requirements for speed and security. At the same time, an extensive reconstruction of the building’s cabling infrastructure was approaching, creating a risk of connectivity disruptions for hundreds of employees.
In practice, this meant limited connectivity in some parts of the building and a potential disruption to the Ministry’s day-to-day operations during the planned reconstruction.

Complete Wi-Fi coverage throughout the historic building without compromising its interior, while ensuring full connectivity during the planned reconstruction of the wired network.
What was the objective of the collaboration?
The primary objective was to provide reliable Wi-Fi coverage throughout the entire Ministry building. The new wireless network was designed to serve as a fully capable alternative to the existing wired infrastructure while also providing redundancy.
At the same time, the solution needed to:
- provide stable connectivity for hundreds of users throughout the building
- prepare the infrastructure for the reconstruction of the cabling system without disrupting operations
- meet the technical, capacity and security requirements of a government institution
- accommodate the specific constraints of a listed historic building
Solution: Aruba Architecture for High Availability
Based on the technical specifications, we designed a robust solution built on HPE Aruba Networking technologies. The platform was selected for its high reliability, advanced security features and ability to support a high density of users.
Key Elements of the Solution:
- 2 high-performance gateways (HPE Aruba 9106 Campus Gateway) for centralized management and high availability
- 281 access points (HPE Aruba AP-635) supporting Wi-Fi 6E for maximum performance and throughput
The proposed architecture provides centralized management, high availability and network scalability through the Aruba Central cloud management platform.

How was the project implemented?
Installing 281 access points throughout a five-storey historic building required precise coordination. Our technicians had to carry out the installation without compromising the character of the listed building.
Following the physical installation, we performed detailed configuration and commissioning of the entire system. This was followed by comprehensive signal measurements to verify that the resulting coverage matched the original network design.
The project also included complete documentation and five years of maintenance support.
